Shanghai’s carbon inclusive platform has officially launched, giving residents a way to earn carbon reduction credits through activities such as green travel.
Those credits can be converted into rewards including digital yuan and merchandise vouchers, creating a direct link between low-carbon behavior and practical value.
Guided by the Shanghai ecology and environment authority, the platform is supported by Carbon Inclusion and other companies.
More than 100,000 residents have already joined, signaling early traction for the carbon account model.
