Shanghai and Hong Kong, China, August 22, 2017 – Welkin, a China-focused mid-market growth equity investment firm, today announced that it has completed a significant investment in Great Leap Brewing (“Great Leap”), a pioneer in China’s craft beer industry. Welkin co-led this first institutional investment round in Great Leap with Cathay Capital.
Founded in 2010, Great Leap is one of the pioneers of China’s local craft beer movement. The company’s brewpubs have deep roots in the Beijing community and the brand is well-recognized for producing innovative and high-quality beer with local ingredients and flavors.
